Summary: Locate360 is built to keep your family and loved ones safe. We never sell, rent, or monetize your location data to advertisers or data brokers. Your location is shared solely within private circles you explicitly join.
1. Information We Collect
To provide family safety and real-time locating services, Locate360 collects the following types of information:
- Location Data (Precise GPS & Background Location): We collect precise latitude, longitude, speed, and heading to display real-time positions to your verified circle members, trigger arrival/departure alerts for Safe Zones, and detect emergency SOS requests. Background location is collected only when you grant "Always Allow" permission in iOS settings.
- Account & Contact Information: Your phone number (used for SMS OTP authentication), device-generated unique ID (UID), and custom nickname.
- Circle & Device Telemetry: Battery level and battery charging state (to warn circle members when battery is critically low), motion/activity type (Stationary, Walking, Driving), and nearby Bluetooth tracker identifiers if you use the Bluetooth finder.
- Emergency SOS Broadcasts: Coordinates and timestamps generated during active SOS activations.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected data strictly for core app functionality:
- Enabling real-time location sharing between authorized members within a shared private Circle.
- Sending automated arrival and departure notifications when entering or leaving designated Safe Zones.
- Broadcasting emergency SOS alerts to members when requested.
- Powering driving insights and trip telemetry for family driving safety.
- Managing subscription status via Apple StoreKit 2.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
Locate360 relies on secure, industry-leading infrastructure to operate:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud: Powers phone authentication (SMS OTP), Cloud Firestore (encrypted real-time database), and cloud functions. Firebase adheres to strict enterprise-grade security certifications (ISO 27001, SOC 1/2/3).
- Apple StoreKit: Processes in-app purchases and subscriptions securely without sharing your financial details with us.
- Apple MapKit: Renders map tiles and spatial visualizations natively on iOS.
4. Data Sharing & Zero-Sale Guarantee
We do not sell your personal data or location history to any third party. Your location is visible only to members who hold the secret invite code for your private Circle. You can leave any circle or disable location sharing at any time directly in the app's Settings.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
You retain full control over your data:
- Location history points are stored temporarily to show your recent timeline and can be purged upon account reset.
- You can request permanent account deletion by contacting us or selecting "Log Out" and deleting the app. Upon request, all associated user documents and history points will be irrevocably deleted from our database within 30 days.
6. Children's Privacy
Locate360 is intended for family safety. Accounts for children or minors must be created under parental supervision and consent. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without parental authorization.
